The Vinyl Gibbon (aka David Elliott) is a Brighton based musician who creates Jazz with a twist. He has been producing music for over 10 years using a mix of real piano and synthesizers blended with world instruments and percussion. Winner of the Los Angeles Music Awards Lounge single and website of the year, played on BBC Radio 2 Courtney Pine Jazz show and featured on the Noise Festival Raw Creatives TV documentary, played on MTV, BBC TV and at the TATE Gallery.  Influenced by Jazz and World Music he creates a smooth down-tempo sound with a diverse experimental approach. Inspired by his many journeys around the world, he brings a subtle ambience into the music, such as the sounds of Bali and jungle noises from the Costa Rican rainforest.

David Elliott is also the man behind DeLatin Sound, Music Director, Producer, DJ and piano player. With a great network of high profile musicians, a driving passion to create something new, and an inspiring approach to managing a big band, he has created some seriously spicy music to make you dance!

DeLatin Sound is a collection of some of the finest musicians in the International Latin scene, including the Godfather of UK Latin music, Robin “King Salsa” Jones. The band philosophy is to bring authentic Latin music to a wider audience, fusing funky bass and soulful vocals. Playing traditional songs, contemporary covers and some seriously spicy original music. You don’t have to dance salsa, just shake anything you want!

The DeLatin Sound musicians work with many famous artists in the Latin scene, including Roberto Pla, Snowboy and the Latin section and the legendary Havana Rumba group “Clave y Guaguanco”. With strong connections to popular artists like Jools Holland and Amy Winehouse. The band has played many high profile venues and private functions including a residency at the world famous Floridita in Soho.
